His instructions and language were directed to the Jews. The rapture isn't in sight yet, for He had not yet gone to the cross, died and resurrected to purchase His church. Gentiles weren't being addressed yet, until Paul was chosen as their apostle. Paul was the first one to whom Jesus revealed the mystery of the church and the rapture. Yes, we can see the signs lining up, but the second coming is in sight here, not the rapture.<br /><br />Perhaps you may disagree, and I don't wish to debate it, but I state this so that others who read and have never thought about it may realize the context its being spoken in and conduct their own study.
