(However the doctrine of eternal security should always be paired with the reality of progressive sanctification, there's no such thing as a carnal Christian'- fruit WILL be borne). Anyway, as I said, between his adherence to the Gap Theory and his misunderstanding of sovereign election and the doctrines of grace, I stopped reading him. But he sure knows his bible-era history, I give him that. :)Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-55123647683760264562014-01-12T15:36:09.978-05:002014-01-12T15:36:09.978-05:00Hi Elizabeth,

Kelley repeated his assertion that her son was spiritually okay. I wish I'd bookmarked that question and response so I could send it to you. It was quite horrifying, frankly.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-57270733013656430432014-01-12T13:55:32.802-05:002014-01-12T13:55:32.802-05:00Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for reading. As for Jack Kel...Hi Anonymous,

Thanks for reading. As for Jack Kelley, I know of a Jack Kelley of the website gracethrufaith.com. I stopped reading him when he defended the Gap Theory. This theory is that there exists a gap between gen 1:1 and 1:2 and this span of time is when Lucifer sinned. He said "...that something happened to cause a judgment that rendered Planet Earth an uninhabitable ruin after it was originally formed," and "A long gap of time between verses 2 and 3 while the Earth lay in darkness as a result of the judgment (and darkness was on the face of the deep)." more on why gap theory is incorrect, here
http://www.gotquestions.org/gap-theory.html

He also denies that God elects sinners to salvation, saying that the choice is ours personally (only), and misapplies Romans 8:29-30 ("foreknew") to defend his stance.

As you shared the verse, The LORD DID say that those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. (Gen 12:3). I don't think he can be held responsible for how his readers twist the scripture.

Kelley did not say flatly as a prediction the rapture would be in 2011, he wrote an essay supporting the possibility of it. Here: http://gracethrufaith.com/ask-a-bible-teacher/in-support-of-a-2011-rapture/
His study was based on calculations on dates from Israel's birth and lengths of lifespans from the bible. He urged readers to do their own study. Yes it came close to date-setting, but in reading the essay it did seem clear to me that it was his personal opinion.

From what I've read of Mr Kelley it doesn't sound like him to say that "Christ is savior you can live completely unrepentant of sin and still make it to heaven."Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-28225831061227592492014-01-12T09:13:28.599-05:002014-01-12T09:13:28.599-05:00In addition to the usual WOF preachers like Joel O...In addition to the usual WOF preachers like Joel Osteen, you should include self-appointed "Bible teachers" like Jack Kelly.

On his Gracethrufaith website he continually says that if you are nice to Jews/Israel you will receive a blessing. He uses Genesis 12:3 to support this view. I have read comments by his militant followers on Rapture Ready, who say they like to donate money to Jewish causes so they will get a blessing from God. Apparently these folks think Jesus is a vending machine!

Just so you know, I have been respectful to Jews all of my life (I'm 40) and can honestly say it made no difference in terms of getting any sort of blessing. If anything it seems to invite Satanic attacks, which is understandable.

In addition, this Kelly guy also says things like as long as you believe Christ is savior you can live completely unrepentant of sin and still make it to heaven. This includes acts like homosexuality and fornication. HA! He claimed the rapture would take place in 2011. Obviously that never happened. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
