In the sermon from MacArthur, he taught that the word "new" is connected in the Bible with "song" more than any other word. We sing a new song because we are redeemed, and the joy we feel from that new state brings worshipful music to our lips from the heart. I'm thrilled you studied more. It makes MY heart sing to know that anything I wrote drives someone back to the Bible!! :)Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-61894405724595760932016-01-24T19:05:16.172-05:002016-01-24T19:05:16.172-05:00Hi Anonymous,

You lost me there, lolElizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-64838744639094249542016-01-24T18:54:00.551-05:002016-01-24T18:54:00.551-05:00This just might be my favorite entry of yours ever...This just might be my favorite entry of yours ever! J-Mac makes me think, as always. LOVED the missionary story! And the verses from Psalm 40:2-3 are so beautiful. I opened my Bible and did some cross referencing to them, which resulted in about two hours of Bible study. My heart is singing now! Thank you!
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-59746704069553066762016-01-24T12:37:32.021-05:002016-01-24T12:37:32.021-05:00True. Music and emotion are gifts from God, and if a song brings me to that mood, I welcome that feeling. It makes me connect with God on that moment. However, I can connect with God with or without music, because worship is a much deeper connection with God than fleeting emotions. I wish Christians would be mature enough to know this. It's okay to get carried away in the moment, because music and emotions are gifts from God, but do not focus on either but focus on God, who is the object of music and emotion. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-10051421367861909352016-01-24T08:17:09.125-05:002016-01-24T08:17:09.125-05:00This verse is instructive about worship: Jeremiah ...This verse is instructive about worship: Jeremiah 8:2

The Lord names 5 things that constitute devotion to one's deity. Love, serve, follow, consult and worship.

Also, interesting that the mormons sing, but they often sing praises to Joseph Smith!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
