Rom 8:20

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now Rom 8:22

It shouldn't surprise us that the earth fails. In Siberia, there are spots as big as golf courses blowing up and leaving holes behind. Sinkholes that have exploded outward first. It's the methane buildup, scientists believe. The earth as a planet will fail, ultimately. Its acceleration toward that unhappy end (before Jesus restores it) isn't surprising either, not with sinful man doing all he can to help the collapse along. Whether it was a 'natural' event or a man-made sinful event, or satan poisoning it directly, more like this will happen as time goes on. The tragedy is that people who depend on the river for sustenance are most affected.Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-71230388276707380482014-07-30T01:11:02.060-04:002014-07-30T01:11:02.060-04:00I heard scientists haven't been able to explai...I heard scientists haven't been able to explain all of them away. I heard some have witnessed water turning red right before their eyes, in an area where a dumping doesn't fit. If that is true, could it be possible some at least, are satanic in origins, as a way to try to confuse and/or desensitize people to them, so that when the ones prophesied to happen during The Tribulation, it wont seem abnormal, and will be as supposedly explained away as chemicals, and human derived, as the ones today are? Without knowing the rate of current it's difficult to say. Also, typically, when something is dumped into a river you can find the source pretty quickly, the current is only going to push the foreign substance one way. For investigators to not be able to find a source suggests a total coloring of the river.

To me it seems they will be hard pressed to find any natural causes. Christianity is not about tracking the end of the world, it is about following Jesus Christ and his teachings."

* * *
Elizabeth is right. To some degree, it *is* about "tracking the end of the world" as you put it. It is about knowing His Word (which is roughly 30 percent prophecy) and as a result knowing the signs of the times and being aware of the nearness of His return. That's *exactly* what a significant portion of prophecy is all about--knowing the nearness of His return. And I don't mean this to sound snarky, but those who are truly, as you say, "following Jesus Christ and [H]is teachings" need to understand that.

Anonymous, I hope you're not infected with the insidious DONTPLEASE virus, because I detect traces of its symptoms in your post. This is a deadly pathogen known as "Depending On Natural Theories and Physical Laws to Explain Away Scriptural Events."

This deadly organism tends to infect those whose spiritual immune systems have been weakened by prolonged exposure to a fallen, faithless world system that worships the god of science and reason and dismisses as simpletons those pathetic deluded souls who stubbornly cling to fanciful biblical fairy tales.

Luckily, there is an antidote that has been scientifically proven to be 100 percent effective: a steady diet of God's Word.

Throughout the Bible, God often uses the physical laws and natural processes He created to accomplish His purposes, and sometimes does things in such a way that those with faith can see His hand at work while those without faith can explain it away in the natural and go their merry faithless way.

On the other hand, there are times when God has no intention of allowing His actions to be attributed to anything but His mighty hand--sometimes He demands full credit. One such example that leaps to mind is the climax of the Battle of Gog Magog.

Just as they are poised to destroy Israel, Gog and his armies will be wiped out in a way that will shock the world, and take careful note of the reason God will do it in such a manner:

"Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD."
(Ezekiel 38:23)

God isn't going to let anyone explain *that* one away.

The point is that one should think twice before questioning or criticizing someone who is obeying Jesus' command to be alert to prophetically significant events.

Think twice, and then DONTPLEASE.Greghttp://www.alittlestrength.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-21868412893549340672014-07-26T16:09:39.358-04:002014-07-26T16:09:39.358-04:00I didn't know that river turns red sometimes.
...I didn't know that river turns red sometimes.

Christianity is about learning who God is through His delivered word, which includes prophecy. The point of the article was to rightly understand prophecy as an important study subject because a third of the bible is prophecy, yet also handling it rightly, as you said. And thirdly, when people DO track the end of the world, and they do, to show them from scripture what the prophecies are.Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-26859353753751736022014-07-26T16:04:33.261-04:002014-07-26T16:04:33.261-04:00Everyone knows this river turns red sometimes.
