I hope that the Lord guides the victims of spiritual abuse under whatever disguise or label to such blogs as yours because you provide in your analyses a clear and true picture of the controlling, authoritarian Pharisaical spirit behind the false and ruthless would be shepherds.

I can identify with the subject having been part of such movements. A number of my friends are still cheering on those leaders, following them, idolizing them and all the while closing their eyes and minds to what are such obvious signs of departure from true Biblical doctrine and practice. Now when I smell a little waft of that smoke from hell, I run from it as from the plague.

It is hard for immature young believers to detect it at first unless you have suffered all the brainwashing and manipulative tactics used to beat the poor sheep into submission. Once we are out of those spiritual prisons and been restored to wholeness and sanity, it becomes our duty to help free the prisoners.

We have to contribute our part speaking the truth in love to address these abuses and help those who have nagging doubts and wounded spirits and are too beaten down to resist the constant pressure to conform to the standard imposed by their leaders. After being free, it is easier to see clearly and being able to recognize the patterns and tell tale signs.

I appreciate the balanced approach to biblical authority and discipline that you describe and your heart felt sorrow and compassion for the victims and your compromising stance on the truth of the authority of Christ and his Word.

Your series on gnosticism were excellent. I am relearning some of the things that I learned in college way back when, and your application for today´s church condition is right on.

Thank you again for standing faithfully and keeping us informed in spite of the heat of the battle.

I remodeled my blog and cleaned up a lot of stuff that made it slow to load and distracted the reader from focusing on the text. I know that the focus is on the elections and the middle east. I leave it to you to keep us informed on the latest important happening.

I pass on some your most important commentaries and biblical studies and am relieved that God has not called me to write in such a way to keep up with all that´s happening out there. When you have some time come and visit.

Here is a post I wrote on what I believe is correct biblical authority and discipline with the intent of correction and restoration from examples found in both OT and NT. It is a far cry from what you describe in your own experience and Jonna´s story which I read on my research on Mark Driscoll.

http://thelightseed.blogspot.com.br/2007/12/intercession-and-heart-of-god.html

Grace and peace to you and have a blessed and restful week-end. They look to me like a bunch of donkeys running to and fro at will feeding on what ever they find. Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05171219693651832856noreply@blogger.com
