My grandson had been asking questions about her studies. Before I did the parallel reading, I read the whole content regarding Ephesians 3:19. I came to same conclusion as MLJ did. It was not hard, if you take it in context. Beth Moore obviously didn't.gama_dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14133290301320672812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-32562233544814697902021-02-19T15:58:34.730-05:002021-02-19T15:58:34.730-05:00Thank you for research on IF. I have always followed a handful of men throughout my 45 years of being a christian. but I have definitely made sure to do thorough research on these men to make sure that what they actually teach lines up with the scripture. there are an abundance of false teachers and Steven furtick is definitely one of them. I read your article to the end and agreed with everything you said. I have also watched the American gospel Christ crucified and I think all people should watch it. I know many professing Christians that seem to support these false teachers but they are absolutely clueless about what they believe. unfortunately the vast majority of so-called Christians are biblically illiterate and since they do not know the scripture or anything about doctrine they are unable to discern whether or not these people are actually teaching the true gospel. I actually know people that have been in church for years that support this lady and also Beth Moore ,Joyce Meyer and Steven furtick . we have to be so incredibly careful about who we follow but more importantly the forerunner to that needs to be that we should be rooted in God's word and firmly planted in what we believe and why so we are able to be more cautious about following anyone in the public eye that has a Bible in their hand. your article was spot-on.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01441268680425469666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-27925739926485196622021-01-28T09:37:06.686-05:002021-01-28T09:37:06.686-05:00Hello there. I have been sharing with friends whenever I have discovered false teachers/teachings, and the responses have been mixed. There's always the risk that a friend may reject or ignore your warnings, and continue on in deception. I had to end one relationship as the person was adamant that her false teachers were fine and that she was blessed to have their ministry in her life. We terminated our relationship by telephone, and it was amicable, sort of....
I declined her offer to pray for me.

Other friends have been more enlightened and we still have good relationships.

May God bless you, and enable you to stand up for Jesus, and His truth, The Truth, always. Can't we sit down & read the bible ourselves, study and share & see God answers prayers in our lives?????
I went to a group that did videos from some lady. It was impersonal, heartless & very cold. There was a stigma of how great this woman was that made the teaching. We were all supposed to learn from her. A lot of pride was involved. Thanks for your reasonable comment....Hi Anonymous,

Thanks for your reasonable comment. I'm not sure what her goal was in writing it either. She did and also wrote Feathers from My Nest about the subject as well.

I'm a little concerned you've done 8 of her studies and are not seeing the false teaching. She claims direct revelation from God, even putting what He allegedly says in quotes. This is heresy. The canon is closed and He is not speaking new revelation to Beth Moore.

She also twists the Bible, misusing it in a poor hermeneutic, and taking things out of context. She admitted several times that she does this. She thinks up a topic, or waits for the Lord to allegedly give her a topic, then matches verses to the topic. This is exactly wrong. Peter says that the unstable twist the Bible (2 Peter 3:16).

She also rebels against God's word by teaching men and preaching, usurping the position reserved for men only. (1 Tim 2:12). (Teaching women or children is OK, Titus 2:4-5).

She inserts herself into the narrative and into her lessons, this is eisegesis. Finally, for this comment, not finally on ALL that is wrong about Moore's teaching, she unabashedly partners with false teachers.

I hope some of this will resonate with you. If you have further questions, ask away and I'll try to answerElizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-41382630964861560792020-09-21T16:52:27.576-04:002020-09-21T16:52:27.576-04:00I like John McArthur's writings as theological...I like John McArthur's writings as theological musings, but I have to say that Beth Moore's thoughts on what Mary, a (perhaps) 14-15-year-0ld, with a brand new baby and little education, not to mention doctor, mother, medicine, hot running water, was thinking are probably just as, if not more, on target. Thinking about a first pregnancy and birth from afar and actually experiencing one are two quite different things. Since I haven't read the book, I'm not sure what her goal was in writing it, and we Purpose and audience controls content.

Yes, Beth Moore is overly dramatic and "girly" for my taste at my age and stage, and I don't agree with everything she says, but I believe her goal is to teach about Christ's redemptive power by presenting a picture of herself that many, many hurting women can identify with. I have complete about 8 Beth Moore Bible studies and have not found anything particularly heretical.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-34571632884166132912020-09-12T17:44:04.539-04:002020-09-12T17:44:04.539-04:00when i saw this verse just this morning...i was co...when i saw this verse just this morning...i was compelled to spread it out, but i immediately check my e-sword before i do that, tried to browse all the version that i have...it actually says different, so sad that this lines are found around the web...i saw exactly how you see this one, i'm glad that i found this site for confirmation...i want the verse to be exactly what it is before i post it on my wall regardless of what version, as long as it is found and supported by scripture.jonie salcedo evangelistahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11355017509138072595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-53728147002714205892020-07-29T08:49:34.917-04:002020-07-29T08:49:34.917-04:00There is a lot to criticize because Beth Moore is ...There is a lot to criticize because Beth Moore is a false teacher.

I offered many proofs and credible critique but you dismiss them all because "they didn't speak to you"?! It is God. The Pope only recognizes them through an intensive process of investigation. If any Protestant would bother to read the the statement of faith of Catholics (i.e. - the Catechism) then you would understand a good deal more than presented here in this article. That Catholics approach Jesus by the virtue of Mary - very true. It was her YES to God that allowed the Savior to be born. In the same way by Eve's virtue that sin entered the world through Adam. Virtue and merit are NOT the same. The only merit (good works) anyone has (and you can find this in the Catechism and scripture) is because of the merit of Jesus Christ. I get irritated at the reformed faith- which I was part of for over ten years- for intentionally misrepresenting the teachings of the Church. I dare say when your life is in review that there will be people who point to your failings over the good you have done. There are times when you yourself believe you are doing good works but aren't - Like this article - for instance.

Who are you to judge God's servants? Who are you to judge whether or not their heart was for God? And how is it that you being reformed judge someone by their works - after all, isn't that opposed to Reformed doctrine. Your lack of consistency in your belief system is appalling. I have done numerous studies since that one. Some have been authored by Beth Moore and some have been written by other authors. I can say without hesitation that her first study, "A Woman's Heart", is still my absolute favorite one. While the author of this blog finds many things to criticize, those things did not speak to me. What did speak to me was a powerful message of Gods love for me and the realization that all of the Old Testament points to and foreshadows the wonders and glory of Jesus. I loved the way I was encouraged to listen to what God was saying to me in every lesson. Believe me....he Did speak directly to me! Some may believe that Beth is a false teacher but the studies from her that I have done have been challenging, and have helped me grow in my knowledge of the Bible and in my relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am grateful to Him for those studies and I can say with confidence that God has used them for good in my life. I thank Him for those studies.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01684371425038893233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-56256449060049172902020-07-20T08:50:37.075-04:002020-07-20T08:50:37.075-04:00Hi Unknown,

The Bible seems to prohibit women adorning themselves with jewelry, (1 Timothy 2:9-10; 1 Peter 3:3-5) but it's not an absolute ban, since elsewhere in the Bible jewelry is commended or is neutrally mentioned. It is only frowned on by God when the beads worn are an idol, designed to attract attention to the woman and not to Christ; or used to promote her wealth and status, instead of clothing herself with dignity and humility.

If the woman's motivation for making herself the focus of attention rather than Christ is the issue, then jewelry would be a NO for her.

Using prayer beads for prayer is the main no-no in the essay. It all comes down to motivation. Anything, anything at all, can become an idol.

Here, Compelling Truth has a good short essay on jewelry (beads) and external adornment- https://www.compellingtruth.org/women-makeup.html

and this short devotional from Ligonier also speaks to jewelry clothing and makeup
"How Godly Women Dress",
https://www.ligonier.org/learn/devotionals/how-godly-women-dress/
Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-73941039498014703132020-07-19T16:48:46.141-04:002020-07-19T16:48:46.141-04:00Hey, Elizabeth Prata. I don't know why. It's just beautiful, that's all."

I've always loved this too! I think it's because she responded in such a child-like way to the Lord Jesus, in spite of "everything [she] ever did" being so shameful.

"Though I'm not sure if Dorcas appreciated being roused from her eternal rest at Jesus' bosom to return to this ole sinful world to do more work, lol."

I've never thought of that before when I've read this passage - I've always been so focused on the mourners! :) I'm surprised I didn't think of it, though, as I had a dear friend and sister in Maine who was struggling with her imminent death from cancer, wondering if she was being punished for something, and it was terrible to witness. I comforted myself continually after her passing by reminding myself that one second into eternity and she wouldn't have wanted to come back here for anything. Poor Dorcas! But just imagine what her thoughts must have been filled with!

Asking who we want to meet in heaven reminds me of a message I heard when I was a new believer...the speaker was talking about when he was a brand-new believer, coming from an unbelieving home, so this was all new to him...he walked into the prayer meeting on a Wednesday night and an older saint asked him what he had been gleaning from the Word that week, and baffled, he replied to man, "You mean I'm supposed to be reading this at home?!" In his message he went on to encourage us to be gleaning from the Word, and reinforced it with a somber warning: he asked us to imagine what it would be like to meet Obadiah in heaven and have him ask us what we thought of his book, and us having to admit that we had never read it. I don't imagine his idea is entirely sound, but it did light a fire under me to read more. :) Grace to Youhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02762614330823622639noreply@blogger.com
