The sovreignty of God in election is the only explanation of why some can hear and others cannot. Of course, there is always hope that he will be born from above because we do not know who the elect are, only God knows.
So we present the Gospel and when the elect hear they respond and the rest do not. Just thinking about your commentor here on the RCC. Could a billion people possibly be wrong and this person and her husband be right? Uh, yeah!!!! If they don't believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, alone,by His work on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead, is the way of salvation, without the trappings of the Catholic Church, then they are wrong, dead(spiritually) wrong.
All I can say is that words cannot express my gratitiude for the grace and mercy that God poured out on me thru the sacrifice of His Son and saved a wretch like me, dead in my sins, without hope. What a Wonderful Saviour, and an Almighty God. He does it all and even gives us the gift of faith so that we believe it!!!
PamAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-4969681595448809772013-05-08T06:15:55.207-04:002013-05-08T06:15:55.207-04:00Hello Anonymous,
It seems that it it is a matter ...Hello Anonymous,

It seems that it it is a matter of conscience. The question is asked and answered from Liberty Baptist Church of Greenville MI and also from GotQuestions, one site more conservative than another, but both relying on 1 Cor 10:27 for the basis of their answer,

http://www.libertygospeltracts.com/question/prequest/wedfunrl.htm

http://www.gotquestions.org/weddings-other-faiths.html

How can a BILLION people possibly be wrong, your family will ask? OK, let's ask the question this way- are a BILLION Muslims wrong? Or, looking at it from a numbers perspective as they might, before the flood, every person on the entire planet earth was wrong, and only Noah and 7 others were right. By that standard, everyone else on earth was right- because there were so MANY of them.

Or this, we know that there are myriad angels, multitudes upon multitudes. A third of them sided with satan, and these angels lived WITH God in heaven! Are so many angels wrong?

Their likely question illustrates that they underestimate satan's cunning and evil. They must take to heart Genesis 3:1-2

Rather than ask if a billion Catholics are wrong they can say "God is right, so how can I live my life to demonstrate my faith in Him and His holiness?"

I bid you prayerful decision-making as to the above question about attending Catholic weddings.

Here is a resource for you regarding how to counter a Catholic's questioning

http://carm.org/roman-catholicism

Thank you for the question!Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-26437196331470986342013-05-07T22:49:35.030-04:002013-05-07T22:49:35.030-04:00I have a question though it may not "fit"...I have a question though it may not "fit" well with this particular essay.

Elizabeth, you write (and I'm in full agreement) that the Catholic church is a cult. Well, my husband was the only one in his entire family to leave the RCC. His sister is to be married in it next month (after rec. an annulment to a 30 year marriage). I'm praying about this, as a while back I decided to not step foot in the RCC again -- for neither weddings nor funerals. Last funeral I chose to not go to -- I was nearly outcasted by the entire family!! Stared at me with DAGGERS!! ~ pure hatred!!

My question is how would you personally handle choosing to not attend a family member's wedding in the world's largest cult church? And furthermore, I know they are going to directly ask me (at some point) ~ what makes me think I am right about the RCC.... and how could a BILLION people possibly be wrong?

I sure like to swim upstream, don't I? *smile*

Thanks ahead of time for your comments & apologies if this is not the right place for this question.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
