Thanks for suggesting to tweet Mr Chandler and encourage him to be more specific. I would like you commend you for that. Even in correcting or exhorting, our words reveal our heart and whether we are reflecting the Lord's gentleness (in as much as the occasion calls for). I would encourage you to point out to Chandler ways (that you gave in this post) that he could be.more specific about evidence of the Holy Spirit's work. Hence, we have no idea what these men are teaching doctrinally.

HOWEVER, I do try to keep abreast at least of the names and issues that come up, gleaned from blogs such as yours, as it gives us an understanding of how our pastor may be affected by what he listens to and reads. So thank you for providing this information.

-CarolynAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-26359815238071512832018-04-18T10:44:52.755-04:002018-04-18T10:44:52.755-04:00As always ~ great post, Elizabeth.

Sadly, in the church we have attended the last four years, we have heard only one name mentioned of a false teacher. The NT is full of warnings against false teachers...thus, one would conclude that our Shepherds should be helping to warn us of the wolves. In a fallen world, this does not always happen - so all that said, some of us rural folks greatly appreciate a "heads-up" from discerning believers like you, Elizabeth. Thank-you.
May we all continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!Bekkinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-83191985375760402492018-04-18T05:44:43.914-04:002018-04-18T05:44:43.914-04:00Oh! Unfortunately, it is not just America but anywhere the church exists. One main reason Strange Fire was begun was its rampant heretical teachings throughout much of Africa. Wherever is the truth, satan will seek to pollute it.

I wasn't sure what you meant by the Ann Voskamp issue? I am thrilled you have discernment enough to stop reading it so quckly! No, she is not a good teacher to follow. Did you mean one of the blogs on the recommended side had promoted her book? Or mentioned it somehow? Please let me know the specifics so I can fix it.

Thank you for your radership and encouragement!

Elizabeth Pratahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341086233512507156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-73519271786012343022018-04-17T09:13:53.910-04:002018-04-17T09:13:53.910-04:00Hi Elizabeth. I really have no idea that Christianity in America is blotted with teachers that are not doctrinally sound, and worst case is some are promoting or speaking alongside red-flag teachers. I recently got a book One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. She was mentioned by your recommended blog. I only read the beginning 4 to 5 pages, but I discontinued. I read somewhere that her writing is like romanticism with God, which is dangerous.

Thank you for the information about Pilgrim's Progress. I got to read it this year because of your blog. I enjoyed it so much.

By the way, I live in the Philippines. Thanks again for your blog that stands up for truth and points me to Christ everyday.Jerome Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13052204746939099596noreply@blogger.com
