Crowd behavior is heavily influenced by the loss of responsibility of the individual & the impression of universality of behavior, both of which increase with the size of the crowd.

You teach your child how to behave in company / at a church gathering .. do as everyone else does & be polite & co-operative, muck in & make small talk. It is also a safety measure not to stand out in a crowd, to behave after a fashion. There is also an element of ESP to this .. picking up the vibes of those around you.

Q. The Antichrist .. why do we believe that Napoleon & Hitler were the 2 Antichrist's .. according to Nostradamus ?
Why do we believe that the Antichrist is a person ?
As opposed to a phenomenon / a wave of energy / even a gathering / corporation etc. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-55258714335927546792017-01-31T09:19:46.861-05:002017-01-31T09:19:46.861-05:00This blog is very appropo with current protesters....This blog is very appropo with current protesters. ALL of them on both sides. I told my friend (who went to the first womens march) to be careful when jumping on a bandwagon. Better research the structure of the wagon first. Christians are often referred to in scripture as sheep. Sheep are herded animals and they LOVE to follow. Make sure your earthly shepherd is leading you to a closer love and obedience of Jesus and no one else.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-84593952129173785552017-01-26T19:29:38.807-05:002017-01-26T19:29:38.807-05:00Thanks for mentioning it Jennifer and Carolyn. LOL, that would be a miserable experience.

Rest of the article, very thought provoking. Good point about the Passion conference, and good point about how leadership should view the concept of "following the crowd".

As far as fashion trends, all I can say is "skinny jeans". Go in public, the look is ubiquitous. Now look at the women in your church.

As Sheryl said, the older women are supposed to be wiser. But many I've seen are following the youth when it comes to fashion and comportment, in (Sheryl, again) some sort of misguided attempt to be "cool".

-Carolyn

PS: I've tried posting at your other blog, but nothing has shown. Maybe my comments have been lost in cyberspace?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2736720231951988221.post-48049453466724234372017-01-26T10:21:17.154-05:002017-01-26T10:21:17.154-05:00I would also add that herd mentality is prevalent ...I would also add that herd mentality is prevalent in fashion. Just go walk around a shopping area and observe that women are all dressed the same. Few break free from current trends...even in older women (who are supposed to be wiser). People are so afraid to not be considered "cool" that they do not dare be different or think for themselves. Even in the language of the youth, they tend to use the same phrases when speaking. Follow, follow, follow.

Those who have an agenda capitalize on this concept. They know how easy it is to gather a crowd for their own purposes, with the intent of influencing onlookers to follow, because if this many people are involved it must be right. And concerts of entertainers draw their herds of followers, many of whom wish to be famous as they are. And look at the many people with tattoos and purple hair and and and... Raising children these days has become an even more difficult job.

Sadly, "ministers" have become herd gatherers, with people following the personalities rather than Jesus Christ. We can name many of those. I often wonder what would happen to their congregations if their beloved leader disappeared. For example, Eddie Long who just passed away. People continued to follow and defend him even with the knowledge of his wrongdoings, citing the good he had done for them and others. Pitiful. By the grace of God, He has given His children strength and wisdom to stand alone, when necessary.

It will be no wonder then, when the antichrist shows up that people will willingly follow him without question.

This world is in a great big mess. I can't wait till Jesus shows up on the scene to straighten it all out. I'll be thrilled to follow Him while He does so.Sherylnoreply@blogger.com
