Children starved to coerce mom to renounce Christ

Authorities in Egypt are starving two children, ages 2 and 4, to force their mother to abandon Christianity and return to Islam, according to reports from several ministry organizations. The Egypt for Christ Ministry is reporting the woman, who converted to Christianity about five years ago and was arrested as she tried to leave her home country just days ago, [December 13, 2008] also has been sexually assaulted by police officers. The woman, identified by the ministry as Martha Samuel, also has been beaten and tortured in effort to force her to return to Islam, with police promises for her release if she accepts, according to the reports. Apparently, Mrs. Samuel converted five years ago, and she and her family have suffered repeated attempts to kill them ever since. She was apprehended as she, her husband, and her children tried to flee to Russia.

She has also been subjected to sexual assault, beatings, and torture. Now the 'authorities' are starving her children in front of her. I have been unable to discover news of Mrs Samuel and her family in the new year. Has she succumbed to the worst torture of seeing her children harmed and renounced her faith? Or has she stayed fast to the Truth, knowing that life everlasting is glory with your children in the presence of God. Please pray for this family... and pray that Romans 8:38 comes to their mind,

"For I am convinced that neither (death, nor life, nor (angels, nor principalities, nor (things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

And also remember, Jesus said we all will be pressed someday to choose, state, or act for Christ in dangerous or uncomfortable circumstances. Perhaps not as severe as Mrs. Samuel, but the day will come when a Christian will be faced with a choice. What will you do? Prepare your heart now...the End Time is just beginning, "But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake." Luke 21:12
