Originally on Breitbart. Ambassador Bolton said:
"This will come as news to the Coptic Christians that they’re supposed to exercise restraint. They’re being attacked, they’re the ones being victimized both by mobs of fellow Egyptian citizens who are Muslims and by the government."
Ambassador Bolton said that in the last year 100,000 Coptic Christians have fled Egypt. The violence is terrible and tonight's remarks by Obama leave me at a loss. But I'm not without Hope, because I have Jesus, and He is in control.

I was wondering if their response (phsically fighting back) was the right thing to do? If Christians in the US started to get targeted and were being attacked, would it be ok for us to band together and attack back violently? It's something that has been in the back of my mind since I heard of Coptic Christians being targeted like this. I know a similar reaction has been displayed in Nigerian Christians in the north who are being massacred periodically by muslims. It's 100% understandable but then again, is it a response from Christ?
ReplyDeleteI agree Anonymous, that violence on the part of anyone, but especially Christians, is not called for as a response. I was stunned silent that the President wold indicate in his remarks that the Christians even NEEDED to exhibit restraint. They weren't doing anything. That is the one-sidedness and the horror of the remark.
ReplyDeleteThe response from the President should have been to decry the violence against peaceable Christians, to call for those doing the violence to be brought to justice, and for all be allowed to practice their religion in freedom. THAT is what he should have said.
