The Last holdout to revived Roman Empire signed on

Well! The last holdout among the 27 EU nations on signing the Lisbon Treaty has now signed. I reported a month ago that the Lisbon Treaty had been ratified by 26 of the 27 nations, with Ireland having voted for it in Oct, and that only the Czech Republic balked but indicated they would cave in if Ireland voted yes. Now the Czechs have signed it as well. Above, Roman Empire at its height. Source: Missler

The Lisbon Treaty is the document that will create a governmental entity out of the European Union, complete with a constitution and two new offices, a President and his Foreign Minister. Hmmm... Antichrist and False Prophet?? Time will tell.

The Czech Republic had been holding out because their parliament had asked whether the Lisbon Treaty is unconstitutional. This week their High Court judged that it is not, and then the Prime Minister signed. How this fits in with prophecy is:

In the last days, Daniel said, the antichrist will emerge suddenly out of a revived Roman Empire (Daniel 25:40; Daniel 9:26). The last empire Daniel saw in his vision, the Roman Empire was never defeated. It simply collapsed. The European Union has been the forerunner to the final re-emergence to this empire and now that the Union is now a constitutional governmental body, it is officially an empire once again. With the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, the EU can now move ahead with uniting the 27 EU member states into an even greater major economic and political power as has been these past thirty years ... as we read in Bible prophecy for the last days. The treaty is set to go into effect on December 1. Though this is not a fulfillment yet of the Revived Roman Empire as seen by Daniel is his vision, it sets the stage for it to come to fruition, in God's timing.

The following news article is excerpted at the second paragraph. The fact of the new European entity is known, but the impact and reality of that fact is yet to be felt. This article's second paragraph describes what could happen to Christianity in Europe, with all 27 EU nations now being one under a constitution:

Czech Republic Leader Signs Lisbon - No More Barriers to New European Superstate
Today the anti-Christian, secularist leanings of the EU's institutions were illustrated when the European Court of Human Rights ruled that crucifixes must be removed from Italian state schools. In response to a complaint from an Italian woman in Padua, the Strasburg court ruled, "The presence of the crucifix ... could easily be interpreted by pupils of all ages as a religious sign and they would feel that they were being educated in a school environment bearing the stamp of a given religion." The court ruled that the Italian state is to "refrain from imposing beliefs in premises where individuals were dependent on it." Campaigners have warned that this type of ruling under Lisbon's terms would become binding on all member states, ushering in the effective repression in all of Europe of public expressions of Christianity or any other belief that opposes the prevailing official European secularism.

And who will lead the new Europe? This is prophetically interesting in a speculative way, because Daniel also tells us that the antichrist will emerge from the revived Roman Empire (Daniel 7:24-25; Revelation 17:7). Though the emergence of this evil leader could arise from the top position newly created by this European Constitution, it certainly doesn't have to be. And keep in mind that for many years, the Roman Empire had an eastern leg to it (think of the statue in Daniel's dream). The eastern leg was Constantinople, known now as Istanbul, in Turkey. Turkey is Muslim country.

EXTRA:EU to call extra summit on top jobs
The European Union is to call an extraordinary summit in the coming days to discuss who should be the bloc's first-ever president, the EU's Swedish presidency said Tuesday after the Czech president signed the reforming Lisbon Treaty. "To finalize the treaty preparations, I will now begin name consultations. As soon as possible, I will also call for an EU summit," Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said in a statement.

  2. I searched for this essay about Irving unnerving, but it is something that is apparently mentioned a few times (and always with the same phraseology, indicating repeat pasted spam) but the actual essay is not to be found. What I did find is that people mentioning this essay claim it nails the coffin of dispensationalism. Not to worry, bible believers, no essay could do that, because the Word of God trumps all man-made doctrines.

    First, what is dispensationalism?

    Jack Kelley-
"Throughout history God has dealt with His people in different ways as part of the process of revealing His character. Each of these dispensations has begun with an agreement between God and man that man subsequently violated, ending the relationship in failure and requiring a judgment from God."

Dispensationalism is a system of theology that has two primary distinctives. 1) A consistently literal interpretation of Scripture, especially Bible prophecy. 2) A distinction between Israel and the church in God's program. more here
    http://www.gotquestions.org/dispensationalism.html

Replacement theologists believe that the Church is a replacement for Israel and God's promises will fulfill only through the Body of Christian believers.

Anyone reading this is welcome to search for Irving unnerving and/or information on dispensationalism (the two links above are a good start, they have scripture references) and decide what you believe.

But ponder this: as the time grows nigh that the fulfillment of God's promises of judgment grow become present in this generation, people skitter and shy away from the truth. We are told that many will fall away, and I believe that is partly due to the imminence of truth appearing in front of our noses. This scares people, with good reason. It means all those crazy fundamentalists who have been saying that the bible should be believed literally, were right. It is no longer an academic theological argument over the dinner table among scoffers, lukewarm believers, and atheists. It is no longer something to be ignored. It is real, and this, like no other system of belief, challenges the status quo.

Let your ears not be tickled with false doctrines but search the scriptures for what is real, study, pray, and most important, believe in God’s promises!

  4. The essay does not change the fact that it repeatedly says in the bible the church is not appointed to wrath. Believers will not go thru the Tribulation.

Romans 5:9 “We are saved from the wrath to come.”

1 Thess. 1:10 and 5:9 Jesus has “rescued from the wrath to come” and “God hath not appointed us to wrath”. Paul reminds us in Galatians 1:12 that these epistles are not his words, but rather he received them by direct revelation from Jesus Christ Himself.

    1. Just a thought. As we are saved from the wrath of the Lamb, are we saved from the persecution from the anti-christ?

    2. Of What Were They Ignorant? Let's begin examining this passage by looking at Paul's introduction:

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him (1 Thessalonians 4:13–14).Against this theory I object that it still leaves the Thessalonians some hope. Keep in mind, they were sorrowing as those who have "no hope." No hope—this is the key. Also, the one-thousand-year length of the millennium was not revealed until years later (Revelation 20:1–7), and so the Thessalonians could not have known how long this period of time was. Consider also, that if the Thessalonians were sharp enough to discern the millennium, then they would also have been sharp enough to discern the correct time of the resurrection before the millennium as given in Daniel 12:2 and in Isaiah 26:19. I believe, contrary to the above theories, that the Thessalonians were entirely ignorant of the fact of the resurrection. I find no reason to assume they had some hope, when the text plainly states they had "no hope." They had no hope even as unbelievers. Unbelievers do not believe in a resurrection at all!

    3. It depends on what you mean by "we". There are Old Testament saints, New Testament saints, and Tribulation saints. Each has a different destiny, including the timing of their resurrection and how they will be working for the Lord in eternity. We, the saints living now under the Age of Grace (after the Cross) will not experience the persecution of the antichrist. Since God promised that we will not endure His wrath (Rev 3:10), and since our sins are forgiven but the Tribulation is punishment for sins (Dan 9:24), we will not be enduring His judgment (via the A-C) during the Tribulation. The people who come to salvation AFTER the rapture will be persecuted, and most will be martyred by beheading. (Rev.6:9-11; Rev.7:13,14; Rev 20:4)
