Verses on gun sights to be removed

On Monday I repeated the question Jesus asked in Luke 18:8b, "However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" This was in reference to a flap concerning a manufacturer of gun scopes for the US military and the discovery that the company, a Christian owned outfit, inscribes bible verses on each scope as a matter of faith and practice.

Today comes the news that the bible references will be removed
"The references to Bible passages raised concerns that they break a government rule that bans proselytising by American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.  ... On Thursday, General David Petraeus, Central Command’s chief officer, called the references “disturbing". “This is a serious concern to me and the other commanders in Iraq and Afghanistan,” he told an audience at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington."

"The company began putting Bible references on sites nearly 30 years ago under Trijicon’s founder, Glyn Bindon, who was killed in an aircraft crash in 2003. His son Stephen, Trijicon’s president, has continued the tradition."

Again, when the Son of Man returns, will He find faith upon the earth? At this rate...perhaps not.

  1. I wonder how many service men were encouraged by the Bible references on the sites? I guess we are more concerned with the enemy "wanting to be our friends" than encouraging those who put their lives on the line for our lives...A.H.
