UPDATE! Fish Kill in FL, thousands. More below.
UPDATE TO UPDATE: Millions of dead fish in MD. more below
UPDATE YET AGAIN, tons of fish die in Brazil. More below, where I'm running out of room!
It is being reported: "Hundreds of dead snapper have washed up on Coromandel beaches, leaving holidaymakers perplexed. People at Little Bay and Waikawau Bay, on the north-east of the peninsula, were stunned when children came out of the sea with armfuls of the fish and within minutes the shore was littered with them. Charlotte Pearsall, whose family have lived at Little Bay for the last 30 years, said she had never seen anything like it. ''It was so surreal,'' she said. ''It's such an incredible waste - it could've fed the whole northern tip of the Coromandel.'' People with binoculars said the snapper stretched as far as they could see and boaties reported ''a carpet of floating fish further out to sea all along the coast''. ''We initially thought 'woohoo a free feed' but they had really cloudy eyes and you could see the birds had been at them. Some of them had no eyes,'' Pearsall said. Her parents called the Department of Conservation and were told it was most likely the fish had starved due to weather conditions, but Pearsall did not think that was the case as many of the fish looked big and healthy. The Fisheries Ministry are currently investigating the situation and said they could not yet say what the cause was.

Yesterday and the day before I'd reported on the dead fish washing up along 20 miles of shoreline at Arkansas River. Experts don't know why so many birds have died there. Other stories of dead and dying birds falling from the sky in Arkansas, Chile, Kentucky and Louisiana have captured the world's attention. I managed to post those stories a day or so prior to the mainstream news catching it (and Kentucky and Chile's bird fish events are STILL unreported in the US) and my page hits have skyrocketed. Except for the earthquake swarm at Yellowstone and the Iceland volcano Katla rumblings, no blog post has garnered so much attention so instantly. Why? These matters are unexplained as yet and have tottered the already- nervous world. Because these events have an end of days feel about them. Economies are explained, even crashing ones. Earthquakes have always happened. Volcanoes have always erupted, say the scoffers. But 5000 dead birds falling on our head? Not a usual event. 100,000 dead fish going belly up? These things just plainly are spiritually spooky.
Many non-believers have even likened these events to the end of days. Yesterday even MSNBC went on about these events in a news story about the Rapture Group led by Harold Camping promoting the certain date of the rapture as May 21, 2011. They call their group "You Can Know". Even though the bible says "You Can't Know". Sigh. Anyway, I had previously reported on that group, here, and as you may imagine, not positively. MSNBC's article about the You Can Know group is called "End of days in May? Believers enter final stretch."
Unfortunately, when reported in the mainstream news, the MSM will always pick the craziest religious gang and represent that as mainstream Christianity, when it is far from it. The thousands of dead birds and dead fish have definitely spooked the world though. And the incidents keep on rolling out. This latest one in New Zealand adds to the ever-growing list.
Are these signs from God? I think they may be. We do know that Luke 21:11 records Jesus saying that in the end days "There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." Incidentally there was a rare solar eclipse today.
Pestilences are an interesting thing to focus on. Thousands of dead fish promote disease, taint the water, wreck food supply. It could be one way God brings one of the promised pestilences. Thousands of dead birds littering the lawns, water sources, and streets of Beebe Arkansas may bring avian flu. I don't know, but these events are strange enough and out of the scope of experts to (as yet) explain them, that one simply wonders from whence direction the NEXT THING will come? From under the ground in an earthquake? From the sky with dead and possibly diseased birds falling on you?
The end times are characterized as birth pangs, and we know that as the big event gets closer the contractions become more frequent and intense. The event being birthed is the Millennium Kingdom, and the contractions are frequent and intense. The 7 years prior to the Millennium Kingdom are known as the Tribulation, and I believe we can almost hear the indrawn breath of the Trumpet blower, as he readies the call for us to "Come Up Hither!" (Rev 4:1)
UPDATE**************
Thousands of dead fish are floating in Volusia County Tuesday. They were all in Spruce Creek in Port Orange. The fish kill is unusual, according to people who live along the creek, because it's warm. It's been a week since there were freezing temperatures, but there are fish lining the banks. Some said it's the worst kill they've ever seen; thousands of fish lined the twists and turns of Spruce Creek. The sheer number of fish and the smell were both overwhelming. "It was fun last night trying to sleep with the smell going on," said resident Sunny Morningstar."
UPDATE TO UPDATE*****************
"State officials say they are investigating a "very large" fish kill in the Chesapeake Bay, but suspect cold temperatures killed them, rather than any water-quality problems. An estimated 2 million fish have been reported dead from the Bay Bridge south to Tangier Sound, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment, which investigates fish kills. The dead fish are primarily adult spot, with some juvenile croakers."
ANOTHER UPDATE*************
"A survey conducted by the Federation of Fishermen's Colony of Paraná, Paranaguá on the coast of the state, indicates that at least 100 tons of fish (sardine, croaker and catfish) have turned up dead since last Thursday off the coast of Parana. Apart from Paranagua, Ferreira said the dead fish are starting to appear in other coastal towns. "The dead fish are going to Antonina, and Guaraqueçaba Pontal do Paraná. We need an urgent solution to this," he warns. More here, google translated from Portuguese
