World's 7 Billionth Person Arriving Soon

From the Hindu Press recently, they report that the world's 7 billionth person will soon be added to the world's population. It is a really interesting (short) article. First the article and then the prophetic math.

"Before long--if not already--a baby will be born who will take the global population above 7 billion for the first time. No one is sure; no statistician would be prepared to say exactly when this event takes place."

"The rate of population growth has soared over the course of recorded history. When Jesus was born, there are thought to have been around 300 million people on earth. The one-billion mark was reached only after 1800. As many as a billion have been added in just the last 11 years."

"David Bloom of the Harvard School of Public Health speaks of the multitude of unpredictable factors in estimating future population growth: "Among them are infectious diseases, war, scientific progress, political change and our capacity for global cooperation."

"It is generally assumed that population growth will tail off, with U.N. predictions for 2050 ranging from 8.0 to 10.5 billion. Assuredly the proportions will shift among the continents, driven by high birth rates in Asia and Africa. India (now at 1.2 billion) will soon take the lead from China (currently at 1.3 billion). Nigeria, Africa's most populous country today with 162 million, is expected to have almost 750 million by the middle of the century."

"Increasing population creates greater pressure on land, food and energy resources, already a source of contention between countries. Water wars are predicted between neighbouring countries. The environmental organization WWF estimates that with current usage patterns, the population of 2050 would require the resources of three planets. We will be forced to change our habits. "In the next 40 years we will have to produce the same amount of food as over the last 8,000 years," the WWF's Jason Clay believes. He notes that far too much is still thrown away in the industrialized world."

If we look at the information in this article through a prophetic lens, and reduce the figures to match certain verses, the results will be startling. Revelation 6 begins the wrath (judgments) and the judgments come quickly. Remember, there are 7 seal judgments, 7 trumpets, and 7 bowls, not to mention maybe 7 thunders to be completed within 7 years. So in Revelation 6:8's fourth seal, the 4th Horseman of the Apocalypse is unleashed to kill a quarter of the world's population. A quarter of 7 billion is one billion seven hundred fifty million people dead in one swoop. The number of people remaining will be five billion two hundred fifty million.

Then a short while later in Revelation 9:18, "A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths." These are the demons unloosed from the abyss. So if a third of the remaining population is killed, that means one billion seven hundred fifty million die in one swoop. This leaves three billion five hundred million. We started with 7 billion. Now we have 3 billion. But wait, there's more!

Ezekiel 38-39 describe a future battle between Iran/Russia/Turkey/Sudan/Libya/Armenia and others, against what turns out to be God.. Many scholars believe that this battle will take place before the tribulation begins, or at least immediately at the threshold. Why?

Nathan Jones explains, "Ezekiel 39:1-8 describes the tremendous aftermath of the foiled Gog-Magog invasion. Before the massive coalition army can fire a single shot from their launching point on the mountains of Israel, God steps in and supernaturally devastates not only the invaders but also their homelands as well. Russia, Iran, Turkey, the 'Stans, Sudan, Libya and other Muslim nations are reduced to a wasteland, and only one-sixth of their combined army remains, exiled to Siberia (Joel 2:20). For the nearly three-quarter million to a billion corpses left by God's hand to rot in the land of Israel, the biggest cleanup process in all of history is ready to begin. Ezekiel 39:9-20 unearths the gory funeral purification ritual."

Ezekiel 39:9-10 states that it takes 7 years to clean up the dead. There are so many dead it takes that long to bury them. How many dead? As Mr Jones mentioned, some estimates are as high as a billion. His essay continues with how he arrived at the math. So now we are down to 2 billion left alive on earth.

Then of course, there are deaths occurring from fallout from the wars, famines, natural causes, etc and we can see quite rapidly the stark reality of life on earth during the Tribulation when Jesus says that if He delayed there would be no flesh left on earth. (Mt 24:22).

But He will not delay, and prior to any of this beginning, He will snatch His children up from the world to be with Him. Glorious! Judgment is coming and it will be devastating physically, spiritually, and as we see from the above, numerically. But Glory is coming too, and if you wish to be on the side of Light, you must repent and appeal to the Judge for a pardon for your sins. Do not delay, or you might soon become a forgotten statistic.

  1. A nice ending to this would have been: You better get saved, stat!

  2. Everybody's an editor, lol! My ending of "you must repent and appeal to the Judge for a pardon for your sins. Do not delay, or you might soon become a forgotten statistic" means the same thing. You used fewer words. Sometimes that's a plus.

  3. How do you get Siberia out of Joel 2:20? Siberia is not a parched and barren land, unless you think Alaska and northern Canada are also parched and barren lands. I'm also curious how you are going to get 1 billion people into the country of Israel. Stack them on top of each other??

  4. Hi Anonymous,

Here are my opinions as to the answers to your questions. The Siberia comment was from the linked article by Nathan Jones, so for further clarification you can ask him.

    1. Siberia: Ezekiel 38:2 says "Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal,". Rosh is accepted to be the ancient name for Russia, Meshech for Moscow and Tubal for Tobolsk. Tobolsk is a place in Siberia. The indications are that the Lord will push the armies to the far northern eastern and western reaches, from whence they came and far from His people.

1b. As tot he desolate lands, just because they are not parched now does not mean the won't be by the time this battle takes place.

    2. A billion people- It seems like you are interpreting my essay to mean that a billion people will be living in Israel? If that is what you meant that will not be the case, so I'm sorry for not being clear. The army that comes against Israel is exceedingly large, having been formed from many different nations. They are all destroyed, except for 1/6 that get sent to the far reaches north, west, and east. Of those that remain in Israel, they're dead. The Israelites take 7 years to bury them. They will mainly be in mass graves in a valley named especially for this battle, Haman Gog (Ez 39:15, meaning "Multitudes of Gog"). So in a sense, yes, since they will be buried in mass graves, they will be stacked atop each other.

  5. No, I understood you to be saying that a billion person army or combination of armies would descend on Israel. Again - this makes no sense to me at all, considering the size of all the armies in the world combined would not make that many people. Even if every person died in every army plus scores of non-Israeli people - all of them somehow mysteriously inside the borders of Israel at the same time where they will then be buried ... I cannot see how that could be possible. India, as you pointed out, has just over a billion people and it is a huge landmass with not a lot of uninhabited areas (other than in the far north along the Himalayas, as I understand).

If that many people died, it would mean 1/7th of the world's population would be in all the armies of the world. At this time, according to two sites I looked at, between .5 and 2% of the population of the US is in the military and reserves, another site says there are 5 million US citizens in the military right now. The US has one of the largest, if not the largest, military on the planet.

The whole population of Russia is only 142 million (and decreasing) and I am fairly certain that if all the 'Stans, Ukraine, Belarus - all of the former USSR were included you still would not come up with that many people. At the end of the USSR, there were apx 300 million people total - again, the population of those areas is decreasing still, not increasing. It's a huge problem for them.

Also, the two seas - are they not the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea?

I'm just trying to make sense of the numbers that you gave, quoting from Mr. Jones. I will take a closer look at what he has to say as well, but so far it makes no sense to me unless this happens far in the future when the world population is 2 or 3 times bigger than today, or even more so.

Either that, or the prophets were telling us that LARGE numbers of people would die, not specific numbers. As I read the Ezekiel passage, maybe it's talking about the number of BONES and bone fragments that will be buried, not people as Mr. Jones suggests?

  6. It will be death on a scale that is unimaginable. That is likely why you're having a hard time imagining it. Does it make sense that there will be an earthquake so bad that every island on the planet will be submerged? No, but it will happen...(Nahum 1:5; Rev.16:17-21)

Here are some of the scriptures from Ezekiel- 38:9

"Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee..”

    Hebrew meanings-
"a storm", a tempest; by implication, devastation. So many troops they lay waste to the land just getting there.

"a cloud" a mist, cloud, so many that you can't even see clearly

"many" plenteous, multitudes, exceedingly, so great in number.

As this army covers the land in its ill-gotten invasion, "and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground." It is unimaginable that every wall shall fall to he ground, but it shall be so, will it not?

Ez 39:4 says that this plenteous army "You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; "

There are so many it takes 7 months to bury them.(Rev 39:12). If you look at Mr Jones's math, and the rate at which they bury and the likelihood of the number of men doing the burying, the numbers make sense.

As for other wars soon to follow the Gog-Magog battle during the Tribulation, Rev 9:16 states "The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number" and in Rev 20:8 there comes an army "as numberless as sand". It is war on an unimaginable scale, consistent with Rev 6, the second seal, "peace shall be taken from the earth." All peoples take part in the wars at some point. The earth is covered with armies.

China and India's child policies of forced abortions and limiting number of children has resulted in a disproportionate number of males. As the Romans knew, when you have excess males, you put them to work in the military to keep them busy. And that is what these nations are doing.
