Aurora Shooting: Christian mom who was there testifies to the Goodness of God

This Christian mom of two teenagers was in Theater 9 on Friday, July 20, 2012 when James Holmes opened fire on the audience in the United States' worst mass shooting. She testifies to the goodness of Jesus through the massacre. It is a must read.

So you STILL think God is a merciful God?!
“So, you still believe in a merciful God?” Some of the comments online are genuinely inquisitive, others are contemptuous in nature. Regardless of the motive behind the question, I will respond the same way.

"Yes."

"Yes, I do indeed."

"Absolutely, positively, unequivocally."

Read on to hear why. [Ht Kim at The Mystery of the Ages]

  1. People blame God but what about man's free will? Now we get back to the core problem of SIN that people try to run away and ignore in their every day lives.

    1. Who is blaming God? If you read the article you see the onus is squarely on man. Please read it again, I think you missed it a bit...

  2. I just read this blogpost and was going to share it with you. LOL. The writter of this post has a wonderful testimony of faith in Christ Jesus. I am reminded of Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

    31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died —more than that, who was raised to life —is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

    “For your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

    37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    1. Thanks for thinking of me! We all love it when Jesus is uplifted, don't we! It is fresh water to our tired souls.

  3. I probably am the only one but I am still wondering why a professing Christian would be at such a movie with their teenagers. Maybe I missed something?

    1. 1Th.5:5 Ye are the children of light, children of the day: we are not of night, nor of darkness. The name "Dark Night" has satan written all over it! The dark night movie before this one is said to have been instrumental in actor Heath Ledger's death. He is quoted as having said that the Joker (his character)was so dark that he was unable to shake the demons and sleep.
