Pastor Voddie Baucham brings it! I understand God is love, Jesus is our Groom, we cry Abba Father, etc., but the Holy God of the Universe is self-sustaining, needs nothing, judges in wrath and makes war. We don't hear enough about THIS God. Enjoy an excerpt from Voddie :)

    Psalm 51 is my ultimate favorite Psalm. I have been studying repentance for years always coming back to Psalm 51.
    Charles Spurgeon says in his Daily Readings dated September 29:

    “Hidden, unfelt, unconfessed iniquity is the true leprosy, but when sin is seen and felt it has received its death blow, and the Lord looks with eyes of mercy upon the soul afflicted with it. Nothing is more deadly than self-righteousness, or more hopeful than contrition.”

    Since being made aware this year of Ligonier Ministries and their “5 Dollar Fridays” I have been able to download expert teachings by godly men like R C Sproul. One was his 8 lecture teachings entitled “Psalm 51”. Powerful!

    In the teaching "The Inward Groan”, Sinclair Ferguson says “the day we don’t groan in the spirit is the day we have grieved the Holy Spirit”. A much different message than today's preachers who preach 'your best life now'.
