How do you feel?

Alistair Begg brings us some powerful truth. Ponder this 4-min clip as we prepare ourselves for worship tomorrow.

Then let me know what you THINK.

  1. In Luke 10:27 Jesus says, "“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” I don't see the word 'feelings' in there.

BTW - After I listened to this clip, I went back to listening to my Spotify playlist...and the very next song was "How Much I Feel" by Ambrosia. Made me chuckle.

  2. I saw this some time ago on Youtube. It is an important truth to know and understand because feelings can vary daily, depending on circumstances, even to the point that we can think we have utterly failed or have achieved Godliness by our own efforts. I'm so thankful my salvation is not dependent upon me, but on the finished work of Christ, for I "feel" so inadequate. But I know the truth.

  3. I've been to a lot of churches and I've witnessed how Christians tend to swing to both extremes. There's the fundamental baptists who wouldn't as much as lift their hands up in worship and there's the pentecostals who reveled in rowdy styles of worship. What God wants is for us to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, to not wander to extremes but to have the spiritual maturity to worship Him freely and maturely.

    1. Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for reading and commenting. I appreciate it and mainly I agree with your statement. However I do not think it is "extreme" to NOT to raise one's hands in worship.

As for rowdy worship, the verses in 1 Corinthians 14:26-40 are clear that it is not a matter of style but of orderliness.

  4. Dear Elizabeth, what a shot between my eyes! Thank you. I am too often focused upon "me" instead of "Thee, O God my Saviour."
