Beware the Obama 'Evil Eye'

Drudge put this up this morning. Maybe he is half kidding. I am not. It IS an evil eye. Since Obama came on the scene so suddenly in 2007, many think, or are at least asking, "Is Obama the antichrist?" My opinion is that he is not, but that he IS a type, or a precursor, to the real deal who will soon be upon us. It is my opinion that he is a nephilim, as described in Genesis 6:4 and whom the bible tells us are on the earth after the flood. Read up on the nephilim, and if you are a bible believer you will see that it is clear that they are real and among us. My firm opinion is that Obama is one, or a fallen angel directly, not a hybrid nephilim, but in any case, is demonic. I beleive he was sent by satan to prepare the way for the Antichrist's rise and to do satan's work meanwhile. Maybe I will do a blog entry someday on why I think this. Suffice to say, at the very least, one should wonder about his meteoric ascension in American politics, and the paths that he is taking us down since inauguration. And then there's that eye...
BEWARE THE OBAMA 'EVIL EYE'
Tue Jun 30 2009 07:43:56 ET

As the summer begins, White House watchers have spotted a new look by President Obama: The Evil Eye!

Staffers have joked about the menacing glance, which comes when the president meets with world leaders who are not aligned with his progressive view.

White House photographers have captured the "evil eye" in recent weeks, during sessions with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Colombia's Alvaro Uribev.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi got hit with the commander's malocchio last week in the Oval office.

And at least one White House reporter has been on the receiving end of the daggers during a press conference.

Neda said, "I'm burning!" as she died...

We have all been inundated with the news out of Iran this week. After the election there in which incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was allegedly re-elected, protests broke out. Those turned into riots, and then a near-revolution...before the Iranian government cracked down. Many were arrested and some were killed. One of those killed was Iranian Neda Soltan, a 27-year-old whose "shocking and quick death in the arms of her howling father was captured on closeup video, posted to Facebook and came to life on computer screens across the globe" and her death has become a symbol for freedom and voiced protests for many.

By most accounts, Neda was a great person, playful, angelic almost. Which is why this next part revealed today, is so much more dire, filled with horror, even.
"Blood poured from the right side of her chest and began bubbling out of her mouth and nose as her lungs filled up. "I'm burning, I'm burning!" Panahi recalled her saying, her final words." source
Neda, being a Muslim, was not saved. Those who believe on Jesus' name will spend eternal life with Him, and those who do not will spend eternal life in the fires of hell. That is where Neda went, heartbreakingly.

Matthew 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." Matthew 13:50 "and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Now, there are those atheists who will say that Neda's last words are a result of having a gunshot wreck her chest, and her burning sensation was merely a physical consequence of a deadly injury. However, the saved know better. As the life drained from her body and the light faded from her eyes, seconds before meeting her eternal destiny, unsaved Neda felt burning. As good of a person as she was, she was a sinner, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)"

Everyone has an eternal life coming to them, everyone. God in His wisdom gave man a choice on where he wants to spend it. Where do you think you will spend it? Do you think you will go to heaven because you are a 'good' person? Because you were baptized as an infant? Because you answered an emotional altar call when you were 12? Those are not the ways to enter heaven. As John 14:6 says "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus is the way. He is waiting for YOU!

Here we go: Ark of the Covenant is back (maybe)

"And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more. -Jeremiah 3:16"

And so it was. With the exception of a movie that briefly brought it back to consciousness, the Ark of the Covenant disappeared for millennia, decades, years.

Yet suddenly, in the midst of intensifying birth pangs signaling the end of days, the Ark of the Covenant has popped back into the world's consciousness. Why? Only God knows, but the timing sure is interesting. Here is what the Patriarch said: "Now the time is ripe to tell the truth. I will describe all of the entire situation regarding the Ark of the Covenant, and soon a museum for the sacred symbol will be built in Axum, Ethiopia.”

"The time is ripe."

"The patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world Friday the unveiling of the Ark of the Covenant," as re-stated in a World Net Daily article. The original is in Italian and was published on June 15. Google translated page here. I've watched the lack of interest in this issue since then. I was perplexed, after all, wouldn't the revealing of the true Ark be the most significant happening in Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and global history? Yes. Well, with one day to go, there has finally been some interest perking up. Ultraguy wrote about it, Dr. Jim West wrote about it (less optimistically), Ultraguy wrote about it again, and that's about it. Then today WND published and article and the issue finally has reached radar level, to those with ears to hear, anyway.

If you would like to learn more about the Ark and the Mercy Seat, Chuck Missler and Bob Cornuke discuss the mystery surrounding the Ark, new evidence of its possible location and the future role it may play in the end times.

If this revealing and the artifact turns out to be truly of God, it will be an amazing advancement of the end times, and that Jesus is near to calling His church home to be with Him. This event is known as the rapture. For the Christian, it means sweet release from the bonds of physical earth and all its sin and decay, and more importantly, eternal nearness to the Spotless One who died for us. For the non-believer, this means despair, possibly death, and if surviving the rapture, then deception, tribulation, and horror.

Are you ready?? Do a heart-check, Christian, You may not really be saved. Are there evident fruits in your life? Do you have a personal, and active, relationship with Jesus? Be not one of those that Jesus rejects, saying, 'depart from me, ye who practice iniquity! I never knew you." Do you know that you know that Jesus knows you?

Non-believer, all is not lost. Be saved today. Be cognizant of your sin and ask Jesus to forgive them. If you delay this and the rapture comes, and you survive the rapture, do not delay in your own search for faith. The delusion will come quickly and as a non-believer, you will be susceptible to it. You may become lost for all eternity.

If the artifact turns out to be fake or otherwise not of God, it is still interesting that this issue re-surfaced after 2700 years at this time. The end times are still progressing toward the time of the very end. Already, today, Jerusalem is launching talks about sharing the Temple Mount, building a Third Temple without harming the Dome of the Rock, and visiting the site with these dimensions in mind. It's happening, people. We know from scriptures that in the Tribulation there does exist a Third Temple in Jerusalem for the Jews, that it co-exists with the Gentile site. Repent! The time draws near!

O, look up, for your Redemption draws nigh!

A Christian's fallout shelter

Man has always sought peace and security. In ancient times the safest place to live was in a walled fortress castle or town. Then Henry perfected use of the trebuchet and that was that.

Man tried to use natural geo-forms to protect themselves, the most extreme being the residents of San Marino. Situated in the Apennine Mountains, it is a landlocked enclave, completely surrounded by Italy. They were never defeated, but they never went anywhere, either. They are best known for making tiny postage stamps and being really good with a bow and arrow.

Then man made nuclear weapons, and thought that deterrence would be the peaceful way to security. Or the secure way to peace. The 1960s were rife with nuclear drills and fallout shelters. This was the time in which I grew up. The Soviet threat was real and kids understood that the specter of nuclear war as a present reality. We just expected that someone, somewhere, was going to nuke someone. Fallout shelters were De rigueur. A fallout shelter is an enclosed space specially designed to protect occupants from radioactive debris or fallout resulting from a nuclear explosion. They made it seem that living in a fallout shelter was a picnic wrapped in a camping trip. Pop culture promoted this thought (Fallout handbooks saying "How You Can Survive a Nuclear War"). The Twilight Zone weighed in with a rare dose of reality with The Shelter. Watch it, the 25 minutes is worthwhile.

The Cuban Missile Crisis didn't help the mindset, either. Then the Berlin Wall fell and the Soviet Republics split apart and nuclear was was passe.

Now after twenty years, there is another missile threat, this time, from North Korea. And for the first time ever, even from the bad old fifties and sixties, the headlines touting imminent nuclear bombings are appearing, and plentifully too.
  • N Korea defends nuclear programme
  • War book reveals how Britain planned to cope with nuclear attack
  • Serbs send nuclear fuel to Russia, citing security
  • Upheaval in Iran Doesn't Change Nuclear Calculus
  • Iran Nuclear Nightmare
  • Al Qaeda & Pakistan's Nukes: Apocalypse Soon?
Even the staid London Telegraph published a weird comic strip called Operation Blackjack, with no context, rhyme or reason, depicting nuclear conflagration and a new world order. With all the new talk of nuclear war, peace, and security, there is an attendant rise in interest in the topic of fallout shelters. The chart on Google trends shows a 20-fold increase in the topic in 2006 over 2005 and 2006, and that interest has maintained in 2009.

People have always and vainly tried to protect themselves from the elements, from war, from aggressive neighbors. It has never worked, and living in a fallout shelter won't work either.

"While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape." 1 Thessalonians 5:3

You know what will work? Jesus. There is safety in Jesus. Not in never having to deal with a tragedy or never having your personal safety compromised. Both are likely to happen to you in living a life here on sinful earth. But living under the arms of Jesus means eternal security. "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91

"The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe."Proverbs 29:25

"Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ ” Isaiah 12:2

There are so many more scriptures where God gives us His blessed assurance that whatever fallout we may be experiencing in our lives, He is with us through emotional, physical, nuclear, psychological, any fallout whatsoever. He is with us and gives us His strength and safety in His promises. As for me, I'll take the Savior's safety any day, over concrete bunker and stocked up peas and stale bottled water. You can have that safety as well! Perfect peace, that no matter what comes, and it is coming, you can feel free from fear and lay in the cleft of the rock under His care. Here's how.

Who could the Two Witnesses be?

After the Rapture, God sends Two Witnesses to Jerusalem to speak His Word for three and a half years. The Witnesses never stop, and because they speak the truth to an evil, sinful world, they are hated. People try to kill them, but anyone who approaches them are killed by fire. At the appointed time, God allows the Beast to overcome the Two Witnesses and they lay dead in the streets for three and a half days, at which time they are supernaturally resurrected and ascend to heaven in front of the eyes of the world. (Revelation 11:3-15)

Speculation about the identity of the Two Witnesses abounds. Some think it would be Moses. However, there is a problem with that:

Since Hebrews 9:27 says "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment," ...

So if one of the witnesses was Moses he would die twice... rendering the scriptures untrue. We know that is an impossibility! The only two men this is not the case for is Enoch and Elijah ... neither man died--

Genesis 5:24, "Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away."
Second Kings 2:11, "...suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind."
Enoch "walked with God for 300 years" (Genesis 5:23).

Also, God sent a prophecy:

Malachi 4:5-6 “See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.”

Just thinking out loud. The bible does not explicitly say who they are, so it will not be solved, but it is an exercise in curiosity. Now, as to witnessing: we cannot all be supernaturally powerful as the Two Witnesses in Revelation, but then again, we don't need to be. God will use us. He wants us to witness for Him and about Him. Tell of what He has done for you! Tell how you love Him! Just be yourself, and people will respond.

Scientists discover the immortality that God hath made

God has always judged man's arrogance and failure to rely on Him. When knowledge increases to the point where man duplicates acts that only God should perform...well...it is only a matter of time IMHO.

Prophecy-"Knowledge Increased "...many shall run to & fro & knowledge shall be increased" (Daniel 12:4)

Can Gene Mutations Generate Immortality? Harvard Research Team Says "Yes"
"Scientists are working on mutations to generate immortality. This is not a comic book. Early experiments have greatly extended the lifespan of bioengineered worms, enhancing their genetic integrity and giving them resistance to many things that would normally kill them."

Now, I find this next bit quite interesting!

"Harvard medical school staff have engaged in (Elegans) immortality research based on a simple observation: certain cell lines are immortal. You'll be gone by the end of the century, and your current skin'll be gone before the end of the month, but in your very existence the immortality of the first primate lives on..."

I don't believe anything about the 'the 'first primate', but imagine that! Our cells are immortal!!! But, didn't we know it all along, for God created 'science'. Science does not deny nor diminish God, it only reveals Him.

God knows where each of our cells is, and when it comes time to resurrect us, He will knit us back together from wherever we are, even if we died under the sea...John 5:28-29, NIV. "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out— Rev 20:13 "The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them"

The story of the Tower of Babel went like this:

Then they said, 'Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.' And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built. And the LORD said, 'Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.' So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.' Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth." (Genesis 11:1-9)

Can judgment be far behind when man seeks to replace God and re-create immortality? Especially when it already exists? How far do we want to go in increasing our knowledge? God will put a limit on that. For our own good, but meanwhile, many run to and fro and knowledge is increased, just as Daniel foretold

Today is the day of your salvation

"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Cor. 6:2)

The end time signs are increasing in depth and speed. We are veritably hurtling toward the time of the end. The day to think of your salvation is closer than ever. Why delay? He is opening His arms just for you. He knows your name, and He has a plan for your life that is great and good. If you delay, it may be too late. See these unfortunate ones who thought they had escaped the grip of death...but it caught up to them anyway:

Hiker lost in New Mexico mountains calls 911 seven times unanswered, then chopper which rescued her crashes, kills her
A Japanese hiker who became lost in the northern New Mexico mountains and later died in a crash of the helicopter that rescued her called 911 seven times before being connected to an emergency dispatcher. The chopper had just rescued Yamamoto — who had been on a hiking trip — when it hit the side of a mountain.

Woman who missed Flight 447 is killed in car crash a week later
An Italian woman who arrived late for the Air France plane flight that crashed in the Atlantic last week has been killed in a car accident, it has been reported.

Habakkuk 2:3
For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

Wrong house demolished

Georgia Contractor Using GPS Coordinates, Not Street Address, Demolishes Wrong House
Turns out GPS isn't all it's cracked up to be. A crew using coordinates from a global positioning system demolished a 60-year-old home in Carrollton earlier this week, but it was the wrong house. The home's owner, Al Byrd of Atlanta, said he heard about the mistake when a neighbor called him to tell him the house he grew up in — along with his family heirlooms — had been destroyed.
Wow. Just...wow. I feel for that guy. It is a terrible thing when a house is demolished. Worse when it could have been prevented.

It's like today, with God's house and the issue of discernment. Let's use the analogy of the work crew to describe the lack of discernment in Christians today, and its eventual and sure result: a destroyed house.

There are two parts to discernment: preparation/awareness and courage. The crew should have prepared. Perhaps there was a photo included in the work order...they should have noticed it. They should have studied the route, decided on the best way to approach the demolition. They should have prepared their approach with more care. Instead, they casually relied on a GPS system, an extra-curricular document and known to have flaws. They took their work cavalierly, they were too casual as to its importance, and they were completely unprepared for the task at hand.

Even with that said, there are signs and clues as to which direction you are going. They could have realized it was taking longer to get there, or noticed the sun on their right instead of their left, indicating they were going north instead of south. There are street signs, and finally, there is a house numbering address affixed to the house. The crew was unaware, unperceptive as to where they were going. The result of their lack of preparation and their unawareness was a destroyed house.

It takes a lot of unawareness to bulldoze the wrong home. You have to NOT pay attention to a lot of things, over a long time, for a mistake like this to happen. But maybe there was a guy in the truck that was sort of intuiting this maybe was not the way to go. Maybe there was a guy who thought that the photo of the house on the work order was not similar to the one in real life. But he didn't speak up. Maybe he had words before with his boss and couldn't bring himself to knock heads any more. Maybe he just didn't care what happened. Maybe he thought that people smarter than him have things under control. Whatever the reason, he didn't have the courage to speak up and the result is the same as the crew who were unprepared and unaware: total destruction of the house.

It's like this for the Christian. False information doesn't come storming in like a wrecking ball, the wrecking ball is only the end result. Falsity comes with every little turn to the right and left that is not corrected. Falsity comes with reliance on the wrong texts or systems. Falsity comes when we are cavalier as to the enormity and importance of the task. It comes when we are unaware and relax our vigilance. Falsity comes when no one speaks up to say 'hey, I think we are going down the wrong road.' The result is ALWAYS a destroyed house.

There is an issue of discernment in the Christian life today. Can we detect falsity when we come across it? Not if we do not study God's plan and only His plan, not some other (flawed) system. Can we determine whether we are on the right road? Not if we do not have a close prayer relationship with Jesus. Can we approach our task with the gravity it deserves? Not if we do not put aside our will and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. We must be vigilant, prepared, studied, and have courage to speak up. Otherwise when the wrecking ball comes and we stand before Him who created it all, what will we say? "Oops" is not a proper response.

Tadpoles rain from sky in Japan

Tadpoles rain from sky in Japan

"Tadpoles have rained from the sky on a number of occasions in central Japan since the start of the month, it has emerged. A 55-year-old man in the city of Nanao was caught in a downpour of the amphibian larvae that covered a ten metre radius, while a similar incident was reported two days later by officials in nearby Hakusan. Scientists have rejected standard explanations of the phenomenon, as there were no strong winds at the time of the incidents and the size of each downpour was too narrow to be caused by birds spitting out the tadpoles."

"The raining down of small creatures such as frogs and fish is a rare meteorological phenomenon that is reported from time to time across the world. Scientists have widely attributed the surreal raining of animals to strong winds, storms and water sprouts sucking up creatures before depositing them further inland. However, this explanation has not satisfied meteorologists in the Ishikawa region. Officials at Kanazawa Local Meteorological Observatory told local media that they were unsure how the tadpoles had arrived as there had been no reports of strong winds at the time. [Also, if winds had sucked up the tadpoles, it also would have sucked up grass, reeds, and debris, said another scientist in another article]."

Does it seem that more and more inexplicable things are happening these days? And why should that be, when we are the most knowledgeable generation that ever lived? When we have access to incredible science, to advanced technology, and the monetary means to discover more and more? Yet as knowledge increases, scientists are ever more perplexed. It is because God is in control. He is waking us up even as He slowly lifts His hand of protection from the earth. He is showing His hand of sovereignty and divinity. Man can never out-think, out-do, or out-perform God. Never.

The tadpoles, which you know grow into frogs, reminded me of the plague God visited upon Pharaoh of Egypt:

Exodus 8:1 -- Then the LORD said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, over the streams and over the pools, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.'" So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.'

As for the end of days, in Luke 21:25 it is written "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;"

I can guarantee that there will be increasing perplexities visited upon earth, for which the scientists will have no explanation. Pitched into confusion and despair for the things that are coming upon the earth, when the Antichrist offers what seems to be a plausible explanation and a solution, it will be accepted by the rebellious people of earth. And therein lay their doom. For only God can cause perplexities that man cannot understand, because God says "As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts." Isaiah 5:9. And so it is also true that God is the only solution. He sent His son Jesus to be the eternal sacrifice for us sinners. If you feel convicted of your sins, walk through the open door of His gate of forgiveness, and you will find the solution.

We shall know the times, for we are not in darkness

Friends, so often when I say "it is the end times", the reply of many Christians is this, "it may be 1000 years till He comes," or "no one knows the day nor the hour..." Both of these are incorrect responses and in my opinion a design of the evil one to get us to avoid watching and implementing the commandment to be vigilant. No, we will not know the hour nor the day, but we do know a great deal despite remaining ignorant of the specific time. I usually reply the best way I know how, with scriptures. Here are some for you to use or ponder further:

"Do not despise prophetic utterances" or even more clearly: "Don't despise what God has revealed." God's Word translation 1 Thess 5:20.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17,

Jesus spent a great deal of time answering the apostles' question about the signs at the end of the world. Why would He have done that if he had not wanted us to know? Of course, because He did want us to know. Of the rapture we are specifically commanded to watch for the signs:

Luke 21:28
"But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

Matthew 25:13 "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words"

1 Thessalonians 5:6
"Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober."

"Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." Daniel 12:10

See also Jer 23:20 "...The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart; but those who have insight will understand."

Revelation 3:3 reminds us that if we do NOT watch we will be ignorant, to our peril: "Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee."

These scriptures make it clear that our duty is to watch, look, comfort, and be strong. Let us not be swayed by the traditional and erroneous view, that "we will never know." No, indeed, we will not know the exact time, (how can we? the globe has 24 time zones and 2 calendar days at any given simultaneous moment!) but we DO know the season. It is to our detriment if we do not watch and understand, for Mt 24:48-50 says

"But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

It is the hour, the time, the season, and in these last days "we who have insight will understand it!" Therefore comfort one another with these words!

It's official: level 6 global swine flu pandemic

Luke 21:11 "and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven"...

Matthew 24:7 "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."

WHO: Swine flu pandemic has begun, 1st in 41 years

GENEVA -- The World Health Organization told its member nations it was declaring a swine flu pandemic Thursday - the first global flu epidemic in 41 years - as infections climbed in the United States, Europe, Australia, South America and elsewhere.

In a statement sent to member countries, WHO said it decided to raise the pandemic warning level from phase 5 to 6 - its highest alert - after holding an emergency meeting on swine flu with its experts. The long-awaited pandemic decision is scientific confirmation that a new flu virus has emerged and is quickly circling the globe.

Swine flu charting deadly course

'Working hypothesis' among experts is virus to follow 1918 pattern

Chilling parallels between the spread of H1N1 swine flu and the 1918 Spanish flu that killed millions have disease experts bracing for an onslaught of new infections and a possible second wave of illness. Dr. Ethan Rubinstein, professor of infectious diseases at the University of Manitoba, said experts now believe the H1N1 influenza will follow the same pattern as the 1918 pandemic, as the virus continues to spread in more countries worldwide and causes a disproportionate amount of severe illness in First Nation communities.

But let us remember Jehoshaphat's prayer:
"And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, and said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee"

"Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help." 2 Chronicles 20:5-9
His prayer is a good model for us in these times. First, he committed the situation to God, acknowledging that only God could save the nation. He sought God's favor because they were God's people, as we are today. He acknowledged God's sovereignty. He praised God's glory and took comfort in His promises. He professed complete dependence on God for deliverance. Let us focus on God's power, even through mighty pestilences visited upon crumbling and sinful nations. (synopsis with help from Life Application study bible)

We do not know what is in store exactly. We don't know if this pandemic will strengthen in severity and incur a higher death rate, or simply sweep the globe in its current form and cause recoverable sickness, albeit to millions. We DO know that there will be pestilences in the last days. That these pestilences are part of successive and increasing signs and judgments designed to cause man to consider his sins and to turn to the Mighty God who awaits our humble repentance. I pray that the deepening of the news at this time in our history will cause you, and me, to consider repenting of our sin. It is the only way to survive what is coming. And it is the only way to honor God and His Holiness.

Childlike faith in the end times

You know how a child runs to their mom or their dad, tottering on those tiptoes, arms outstretched? And at the last minute, they jump. They jump into their parents' arms, fully knowing that they will land in safety and love.

Jesus urges us all to have a childlike faith. He did not mean have the faith of the child in only good times, when it's easy. He meant it for all the time, including, and especially for when times are hard. When times get tough and enemies of fear, trepidation, doubt surround you, ...even if the Lord has set a table for you that is in the midst of enemies, you shall be held dear to Him and He shall take care of you. But you must take that leap to get to His arms.

In the Third Indiana Jones movie I remember a scene where Indy had been following this treasure map. Bad guys were chasing him and they were right on his heels. He got to a place called the "Leap of Faith." It was a cavern with sheer walls on either side and one entry and no exit ... the map said to walk across. The span was too great for a man to leap. Wh-at?

I remember this like it was yesterday. I was not saved and this scene became a powerful image that stayed with me until I was saved. Indy closed his eyes, held a big breath, put out one foot like a Nazi goosestep, and propelled himself forward.

His foot landed on solid ground, How can this be? He looked at the invisible bridge from peeking to its side as far as he could lean, and it turned out it was not invisible after all, but camouflaged. It blended in perfectly with the background so it appeared as if no support was there. But it was.

Our eyes cannot see the supernatural protection we have, but if we keep propelling ourselves forward, we will find that the support IS there. No matter how close the bad guys come in their chase against us, He is there to provide a way across, through, and then beyond.

John 14:18 No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm-I will come to you. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.

Take a deep breath and keep walking, knowing with childlike faith that He is right beside you!

Newsweek Editor Declares Obama 'is sort of God'

It seems that the groundwork for Revelation's prophecy about the global worship of the Antichrist has begun. Is Obama the antichrist? Maybe, maybe not, but we are definitely living in a fallen world where people call a man "God!" And we know that Commandment Number One is to have no other gods before the One True God.
Newsweek editor Evan Thomas brought adulation over President Obama's Cairo speech to a whole new level on Friday, declaring on MSNBC: "Well we were the good guys in 1984, it hasn’t felt that way in recent years, so Obama really has a different task. We’re seen too often as the bad guys. And he has a very different job. Reagan was all about America. He talked about it. Obama is…we are above that now, we are not just parochial, we're not just chauvinistic. We’re not just provincial. We stand for something. In a way, Obama is standing above the country, above the world. He’s sort of God.
"All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been [a]written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain."
Revelation 13:8 NASB

A great commentary here: "The Antichrist and Mr. Obama"

In his comment, Mr Thomas struggles to find words that will illustrate the depth of the difference between Obama as compared to other Presidents, other leaders, even. In Daniel 7:24 it states that the antichrist will be "different from the previous ones."

Remember Lot's Wife

In Luke 17:32 as Jesus was finishing His discourse on the end times, Jesus said simply, "Remember Lot's wife." What might this mean? Especially, what does it mean for us, the eventual hearers of His warnings in these last days?

If you remember the story from Genesis 19, Abraham contended for the sinning city of Sodom, where his nephew Lot lived with his wife and his family. Sodom was known to be a sinful city and Lot really had no business living there. Lot thought he could live in Sodom and remain untouched by the saturating sin all around him. This turned out not to be the case.

God sent two angels to warn Lot and his family and urged them to leave before God's impending wrath. It still took a bit of urging, actually, the angels had to take them by the hand and physically push them outside the gate. The family took nothing with them, leaving all behind. As they left, the angels said "Do not look back!"

However, Mrs. Lot did look back and so God instantly turned her into a pillar of salt.

Jump a few thousand years to the years of Jesus' ministry. He is pronouncing warnings to the disciples about what to watch out for in the end days. He says that the end will come suddenly and that we must be prepared to give up everything. We must be in tip-top spiritual shape, if we had not already done so before, we must instantly put into action the faith that we have professed with our lips.

Jumping ahead a few more years, in Revelation 3:16, Jesus' dictated a letter to John to the Church at Laodicea. In it, Jesus makes a terribly graphic utterance: "So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth." Spit in other translations is spew or vomit. We know that in the time of the end, many will profess to seek the Lord and few will find Him. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' [Matthew 7:32-33]

Lot's wife practiced lawlessness. She broke Commandment Number One: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.' What was her god? The past. Her things. Her comfy house. Her place in the sinful city. See, she knew about God, her husband was a Godly man, and her uncle Abraham was the father of the Israelites. Yet she risked disobedience to look back. At what? Corruption, sin, perversity. She professed knowledge of God, perhaps went through the motions of serving God, but as soon as the going got tough her double-mindedness was exposed. One cannot have a divided heart and be acceptable to God.

We are warned again and again: "No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." Luke 9:62

James warns: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. " James 4:8

The Psalmist reminds us: "How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the LORD. How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart." Psalm 119:1-2

God wants a full and complete servant, not one who professes on the outside but as soon as the going gets tough, looks back at the creature comforts and surrounding sin with longing. Again the double-minded are decried: "I hate double-minded men, but I love your law." Ps119:119.

For Lot's wife, being "a good person" on the outside was not enough. Going through the motions of 'being spiritual' was not enough. We must obey.

"Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it." Luke 13:33. Therefore ... remember Lot's wife.

Jerusalem was never "intended" to be a multi-faith capitol

Today in Cairo, Egypt, President Obama said: "when the Holy Land of three great faiths is the place of peace that God intended it to be; when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed (peace be upon them) joined in prayer."

In no way does the bible support that there are three gods, but only One True God. For a self-avowed Christian to acknowledge other gods is blasphemy.

There are not "three great faiths", but only God's faith; nor are the faiths equal in any way.

Though the bible does declare we are to pray for peace of Jerusalem as Obama said, (Psalm 122:6) The bible in no way supports the notion that the city is multi-faith. Let's see what the bible says Jerusalem is "intended to be"...

God said: "but I have chosen Jerusalem that My name might be there, and I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.' 2 Chronicles 6:6 & 33:7; Ps 46:4; 48:1-8; 87:3).

God has blessed the city (Ps 132:13-14). Isra did not bless it. Mohammed did not bless it. It is God's name that is above Jerusalem.

Jerusalem was intended to be God's capitol in His land He gave to His people. However, God knew that others would come into His city: "and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." Luke 21:25

But for these transgressions, He promised "And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." Zech 12:9

Then, from Jerusalem, Jesus will reign over all the earth: ‘The Lord shall be King over all the earth’ Zechariah 14:9 and ‘out of Zion shall go forth the law and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem’. Isaiah 2:3.

Jerusalem is certainly being trampled by other feet of faiths, but it as not God's intention that this be so, and He will judge and then reclaim His land for His people. Those, like Obama who proclaim otherwise, are sorely mistaken.

God's Universal Reign
Isaiah 2:2-3
2Now it will come about that
In the last days
The mountain of the house of the LORD
Will be established as the chief of the mountains,
And will be raised above the hills;
And all the nations will stream to it.
3And many peoples will come and say,
"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
That He may teach us concerning His ways
And that we may walk in His paths."
For the law will go forth from Zion
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Pharaoh's ba-ack

Obama is in Cairo today and he gave his friendly speech to the Muslim people. The unprecedented excitement prior to Obama's arrival reached a fever pitch when shops began selling pendants labeled "Obama – new Tutankhamen of the world." [photo left]

Other news articles go on to decry how inappropriate it is to call a US President a messiah or king. However, any Christian who knows their bible knows that King Tut was a Pharaoh, and Pharaoh was the most evil ruler in the Old Testament! [Book of Exodus]

It was his hard heart against the Israelites and even against his own people that led to ten plagues visited upon him by God. It took TEN, count them TEN plagues to get Pharaoh to release the Israelites. Immune to the pain of his own people, Pharaoh insisted on keeping the People as slaves and even reneged on most of his promises to let them go after pleading with Moses to ask God to stop the plagues. And even after he released the Israelites, Pharaoh reneged on his promise and chased them all the way to the Red Sea. And we know what happened from there.

President Obama claims he is a Christian, yet he has reneged on his campaign promises daily. He says he is a Christian yet his Notre Dame speech on abortion was positively chilling. He says he is a Christian yet he promotes the gay lifestyle and all its attendant perversities: did you know that Obama proclaimed June Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender month? No...Obama is looking more like Pharaoh all the time. And the Egyptians know it.

In the bible, God judged Pharaoh harshly because of Pharaoh's insistence in doing things his way instead of God's way, and that, even seeing the proof of God's miraculous judgments throughout the land. I do not know what God will do, of course, but I do know America is ripe for judgment. I think it is highly interesting that the Egyptian people are calling Obama a Pharaoh. And as a real Christian, the last person I'd want to be compared to is Pharaoh!

But...it seems Pharaoh's ba-ack!

Many Christians will be left out of heaven

I am coming to the regretful conclusion that there will be few going in the rapture and few who will enter heaven. I'm including professing Christians in this group. I believe this because the scriptures tell us repeatedly…if we only care to look.

In Luke 18:8 the Lord asks, “When the Son of Man is revealed, will He find faith upon the earth?”

We don’t know how many will be taken by the Lord but the bible provides some indications as to proportions. Jesus’ questions about finding faith in Luke 18:8 is the end of a discourse that began in Luke 17:22, concerning His Second Coming. In verse 26 the Lord said: “And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man.” In verse 28-29 He noted, “It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.”

Often scholars interpret the Days of Lot and the Days of Noah as the spiritual condition of the people on the earth when He comes. I believe this is proper. However, less often looked at, are the numbers.

Prior to Sodom’s judgment (where Lot lived), Abraham contended for the city in Genesis 18:23-32. Sodom is stated to be a “city,” having a “gate,” and people came “from every quarter.” In other words, Sodom wasn’t a village nor was it small. A lot of people lived there. God was about to destroy the city for its iniquity. Abraham asked God a series of questions and ended with: ‘If there were ten righteous people in the city, would God destroy it?’ And God said if there were ten He would not. In Genesis 19:24 that God rained fire and brimstone upon the city, destroying it, so God did not find ten righteous people. We know from scripture that only four left Sodom, Lot, his wife, and their two daughters. And Lot’s wife escaped judgment but still lost her life for disobedience. Four righteous from among an entire city is a small fraction.

Jesus also reminds us of the days of Noah. We know from 2 Peter 2:5 that only 8 people were on the whole earth were found to be righteous and spared from the flood. The rest of the world was left behind to die in judgment. Eight people is a very small fraction.

Of the two million who wandered in the wilderness, only two made it to Canaan - Joshua and Caleb. Two.

Eight, four, two… In these next verses the bible does not state hard numbers but Jesus does indicate general amounts through His use of the contrasting words ‘many’ and ‘few.’ “Many will come to Me in that day saying, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23. This idea of hell-bound faithful is carried further, when Jesus says that lukewarm Christians, neither cold nor hot, will be spit from His mouth in disgust. (Revelation 3:16.)

The few and the many is found in Matthew and also in Revelation. Jesus again: "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it." For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Mt 7:13-14.

In Revelation, preparation for judgment “books” were opened, and also the Lamb’s “Book” of Life was opened. Books, plural, are opened to name the damned, but those found in the Lamb’s book of Life are few enough to be listed in only one book, singular. (Rev 20:12-13)

Back again in Luke 17, verses 34-35: Jesus said, "I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left.” Note that these are not saved vs. unsaved in the world, but distinctions and separations made from among people living in the same household.

It seems obvious to me that not all who profess Christ will be taken into His arms at His Day. Only God knows the heart of a man (1 Samuel 16:7) and therefore only God knows the quality of faith inside that heart. However, the scriptures indicate clearly that the proportions of those who think they are going to heaven are many, those who think their profession of Jesus' name, or their faithful heart will be enough to earn them eternal life are many, yet the Lord states flatly that there are in fact few. This "few" includes Christians, as in those who were false Christians and those who were lukewarm Christians.

I am in no way intimating that once a person is saved, they can lose their position in Christ. I am alerting us to the notion that many who think they are on the path to heaven, Christians included, are in truth ... not on the narrow path. Though many profess, few go through the gate. Today is the day to search your heart and fall upon Him through sincere repentance of your sins. Do not assume you are saved. Repent, and know it!

We will not know the day nor the time

Matthew 24 is a major area in the bible that foretells the conditions at the time of the end. Jesus is answering His disciples' questions about when the end shall be and what the end time conditions will be like. It is called the Olivet Discourse.

1. Jesus declined to answer the first question as to when. Mt 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." And He repeats this in verse 42: “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming..."

There are many other instances in the bible where it is stated explicitly the exact time is not revealed. Likely to keep us faithful as much as to throw satan off. However, despite the clarity with which the verse is stated, there are some who still choose to interpret it as something else. "We didn't know then, but we will know now" kind of interpretations. The bible interprets the bible and where it is clear (non-parable or allegory) it means what it says!

That did not stop Steve Coerper from predicting that on Pentecost, Sunday May 31 2009 we would be raptured. His take spun off many others and there was a mini-ripple of excitement among those who decided to believe twisted interpretations of the bible rather than the bible itself. Of course Mr Coerper wrote an addendum on June 1, to all of us who are still here and of course, not raptured.

While I agree it is exciting to think the Lord may come in the next second, and I credit Mr Coerper for being a watchman and doing His best to alert us to imminence, it is folly in my opinion to interpret it to the time and day! We do know the seasons, and there is much scriptural support for being watchmen and commandments to understand the times of the signs, but we will NOT KNOW THE DAY. OK, I got that off my chest...

2. We focus on the signs in Matthew but often forget this part: verse 13: "But he that shall endures unto the end, the same shall be saved. " What hope!!!!

We can endure, we have all the strength of the Eternal God under our feet to support us. Think of the surface simplicity of those words: 'he shall be saved.' SAVED! What blessings await! What glory and honor we can offer our Lord in person! What an eternity He offers us, glorified in body and soul! SAVED means saved from hell, from sin's judgment, from everlasting darkness, pain, tribulation, torment that the chains of sin hold us under.

Psalm 40:1-3
I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

It matters not that the we are witnessing His efficient dismantlement of earthly and carnal idols. Because we are saved, we sing in the midst of chaos! "Many will see and put their trust in the Lord'. If you're saved and you know it, act like it. Your confidence will be a blessing to someone!
