On Giving generously: Amazon Smile

By Elizabeth Prata

Do you know about Amazon Smile? You can tag your favorite charity and a small percentage of all your purchases at Amazon.com goes to that charity as a donation. It doesn't cost you the customer anything extra. Here is the Amazon web page explaining how it works, but it's really just that simple. The only thing you need to do is make sure when you shop at Amazon, it's through smile.amazon.com. I have mine set up as a bookmark.

Everything else at your Amazon experience is the same as normal. Information about Amazon Smile here. They donate 0.5% of your purchase amount. It adds up.

My designated charity is Gideon International. 100% of donations through Amazon Smile goes to Gideon's International. There is no overhead.

My charity, Gideons International, recently received a quarterly donation of $3,522.35 thanks to customers shopping at smile.amazon.com.

$36,153.65 has already been donated to Gideons International this year

$169,850,767.10 to all charities via the Smile program.

There are lots of ways to give. Have you thought about supporting some ministries through Patreon? I support two Patreon creators through a monthly electronic donation to Patreon. I give directly to two other ministry organizations through an electronic monthly deduction. And the Smile program is another way to give.

Give to your church, give to those in your life in need, and give to others whom the Lord has given you a burden for. However you give, just give!

Happy giving!

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return. (Luke 6:38).

Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7).

ABOUT GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL
